MARTIN, TN — A Martin man has been arrested and charged in connection to a Friday afternoon automobile theft, police say.
Based on a report from the Martin Police division, the theft sufferer informed police he parked his automobile near the entrance door a Martin enterprise, leaving it working as he went inside.
Police say a person then obtained into the motive force’s seat and drove away whereas the sufferer was inside the enterprise.
The automobile was noticed heading in direction of the Martin Metropolis limits on that very same day, officers say.
Based on the report, when officers tried to cease the automobile, 28-year-old David McDonald deserted it and led officers on a foot-chase. They are saying they detained him within the parking zone off Eagle Inn and located the automobile keys in his pocket.
McDonald was taken to the Martin Police Division and charged with theft of property over $2,500.
